The Instructor

Kristin Kostynick was Pilates mat certified in 2008 which continued into her Comprehensive Pilates Certification completion in 2009. Her original certification required 600 apprentice hours to be completed in under one and a half years, all in person and on location with student teaching on real people, with practical and written exams, and the ability to execute advanced Pilates exercises. She learned a systematic approach utilizing all available Pilates apparatus and accessories for an intensive and in depth understanding of the method. Her teacher trainers were taught by Romana Kryzanowska who was taught by Joseph Pilates, making her a third generation Pilates teacher. Her passion, commitment, and hard work made her one of the youngest comprehensively certified Pilates teachers ever. She maintained her original certification by completing 16 continuing education credits every two years.

In 2005 she decided to take the Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher Exam (formerly known as the Pilates Method Alliance) and became a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT). She maintains her NCPT certification with 16 continuing education credits every two years. Additionally, she studied and became a licensed physical therapist assistant (PTA) in 2018 and still maintains that license. As a PTA, she treated patients with orthopedic conditions, cardiopulmonary conditions, neurological conditions, and more.

She stresses the importance of maintaining up to date certifications and licenses and completing the required continuing education as she feels that it is necessary for her clients to have qualified and knowledgeable teachers that can deliver high quality sessions for every client. She honors the original method of exercise that Joseph Pilates created and brings extensive years of experience teaching the method. She utilizes her experience as a physical therapist assistant and her advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology into every session. She is passionate about sharing this beneficial method and helping people to not only move better but feel better.
